How We Got Started:

Our kennel name was derived from the combination of the two kennels who helped us get started.
The first half of our name "Kara" is from Sharon Brown's kennel " Karahill" We purchased our first show dog from Sharon and she introduced us to the world of conformation. Sharon attended shows and matches with us and showed us what we needed to know to get started. The last half of our name "Star" is from Carl & Amy Langhorst's kennel name" Starhaven" We purchased our second show dog from them. Carl showed Kody to his Championship and showed Lace to her first 5 points and a group 4 until he retired from handling . Carl and Amy have been a great mentor , and boy what a wealth of knowledge . Amy still helps me to evaluate my litters of pups
I can't thank them enought for all of their help and guidence

We have met many nice people at the shows and matches in the short time we have been in shelties. We have made many long and lasting friendships. If you see us at a show come over and introduce  yourself, we would love to meet you.

About Us:

My name is Joann Carruba, my husband Mike and I have a small hobby kennel locatedsouth of Dayton Ohio . We live in the city limits so are numbers must remain small. All of our dogs are house dogs and are spoiled rotten.
We enjoy conformation and would like someday to try obedience work.
We believe in breeding to the standard set before us by the ASSA . Health and temperament are priorities in our breeding program, therefore all of out dogs are OFA.CERF tested for thyroid and VWB.

We are very selective in selling our puppies , as we believe they are a lifetime commitment and we want the best possible homes for our babies
